I'm Telling The Truth
I walk through dark and gloomy lanes in the night
I'm on the run
I must escape, I'm on a lonesome flight
Wish I could make it undone
I know that maybe my flight is without a chance
But I've no choice, they won't believe me I bet
But I haven't done it, I take the oath:
I'm telling the truth
I found her lying in her living-room
The carpet full of blood
She was pierced by the blade of a knife
And I thought "My god!"
I know we often had trouble and we often had fights
But I really loved her, she was my wife
I didn't do it, I take the oath:
I'm telling the truth
Yes, Mr. Judge, you're right and I confess
This objectionable deed
I never wanted to do such a thing
But she treated me bad
I don't know how it happened, but suddenly
She was lying there but, Mister, indeed
I really loved her, I take the oath:
I'm telling the truth
I swear, I'm telling the truth
I swear, I'm telling the truth
The truth
